Various: Remedial Class

By Ricardo Panties
Having been in an utterly crap band called The Panties (our songs were called Mingers and Girth) I like a rude song or two. And when 'Remedial Class' fell upon my doorstep from a label called Stunt Cock Records my expectations were high. Unfortunately on half the songs the lyrics were indecipherable as the vocals were mixed down too low. Given that the humour of the lyrics is the main thing, who cares if the vocalist can't sing. Having said that, after listening to this CD there is a distinct lack of swear words on this album. Other than Nana Squad talking about not getting a "boner at the restaurant" on song one, there's not much smuttiness until song eight, when trust it to be these guys, Deja Voodoo let fly with Feelings (Live). "Feeling your tits, feeling your ass, ..." etc. Salesman by Mobile Stud Unit is a definite highlight with a sing along chorus that will have chambray shirt wearing salesmen around the country arm in arm in unison. What a scary thought. Would love to hear another album, but if they don't spice it up, maybe they should call themselves Soft Cock Records.
