LOST ROCKETS: Lost Rockets EP

Heaps of energy and drive in this self-titled EP, even if it has been a long time coming – the first incarnation of the Lost Rockets was way back in ’07. However, a number of personnel changes have meant that fans have previously had to make do with the band’s highly charged but sporadic live shows. Frontman and main songwriter Sam Vercoe now has a solid rhythmic base behind him and all five tracks on the record speak of a united commitment to the more raucous side of rock. Recorded by Nick Cunningham and mastered by Angus McNaughton, the EP demonstrates the clear vision and sound musicianship of the band. While I would have liked a little more variation in the arrangements at times, there is certainly a lot to be said for these guys, who now have everything in place to really take off.
