Deceptikonz: Elimination

Released on Dawn Raid Entertainment via Universal, 'Elimination' is the debut album for these four South Auckland based 'battle' mcs; Savage, Devolo, Alphrisk and Mareko. Their two song debut on the Southside Story 2 compilation generated enough interest that the slated 'Verbal Abuse' EP quickly swelled to a full length album. Production duties on the 13 tracks are handled mostly by Mareko, (who is also four time freestyle mc champion in Auckland) with beats also provided by P Money and Chong Nee. There is also voice drops from famous rappers which is testament to Dawn Raid's international connections' and Kirk Harding (ex Loud Records). The focus of 'Elimination' however, is the lyrics. Punchlines and microphone metaphors fly thick and fast throughout the album, with the four mcs leaving you in no doubt that some thought goes into their verbal sting. The most cohesive effort in New Zealand hip hop so far, easily worth $30.Related Information
