The KARRADOS: A Means To An End EP
By Lucy Mullinger
This four piece Auckland garage band mix raw rock with softer indie ballads. Vocalist Nigel Moore complements the talents of guitarist Martin Kavanagh, drummer Jordan Stokeson and Leroy de Beer on bass. Tall Poppy begins with some delicious guitar effects making you want to dance. This song brings home a message which the band have taken to heart: ‘Whatever they tell you, you gotta do the opposite’. No More, No Less sees the band in a more relaxed indie mode, a song which would go down well with a cold beer. Things picks up again with The Mexican, some nice guitar riffs making you want to get back off your seat, drop your beer and find the dance floor again. Chivalry Blues mixes their signature garage style with some nice vocals. This five-track EP, produced, mixed and mastered by Darren McShane at Earwig Studios is easy on the ears and is a solid debut capturing the energy of their garage-inspired enthusiasm.
