Svelte: Cat’s Paw

Svelte features Supergroove members Tim Stewart (vocals, bass, acoustic guitar, percussion) and Ben Sciascia (guitars, backing vocals, synths) along with Jamie Woolwright (son of Paul Woolright, bassist for Ticket and Hello Sailor) on drums. This tight three-piece mixes blues and R’n’B with a touch of cow-punk, never quite straying down the full-blown country path but bringing a bit of Americana rusticity to their punkish stomp; you can tell a lot has gone in to this debut album taking a full two years of work. It has been very well thought out and the overall sonics are impressive. Another Supergroove pal is helping out with Dr Karl Steven providing the production hand. Svelte deserve your ear-space, these lads can really do the business, some great playing on this album. I was well impressed.
