Paua Fritters: Cruiseville

Auckland pop combo Paua Fritters return with their second album. Their press info says 'an album of strong melodic pop songs, great vocal arrangement and good songwriting'. This is true, but 'Cruiseville' is so much more than that! Led by main singer/songwriter (and guitarist) Penny Laybourn, Paua Fritters have crafted an impressive collection of contemporary music - pop, rock, folk and even some cool dance grooves. Producer, engineer and multi-instrumentalist Bob Shepheard, shines on several tracks with impressive guitar and bass playing. The Fritters' vocals are also a treat with harmonies galore on many tracks. Only three members of the current six-piece lineup are on the album, but I would love to hear the group live!
