And these guys most certainly are! Obviously passionate about their genre and pretty damned good at it! As the press release says: "... unabashedly basic blues", and it unquestionably is... these guys have set out to create an energetic classic blues sound and have done just that. This album is a combination of originals and covers from the musicians and songwriters that have influenced them such as Albatross and Route 66. Recorded live at Wild Records, they have managed to capture the live energy of the band who are obviously experienced performers. The musicianship is solid, as are the arrangements which showcase, in particular, the excellent guitar work of Darren Hogwood. The basic production works for this genre, although I'd like to see the vocals more prominent in the mix. If you like local blues, I would recommend this album and on the strength of the album, would also recommend you catch them live if you have the chance. Related Information
