The Twitch: Time For Change
By Kate Foster
A delightful disc! This is one of those albums that makes me, as a self considered music fan, wonder why the hell I have not seen these guys live yet. Truly varied and with a healthy sense of humour throughout, ‘Time for Change’ has a massive amount of swagger that is irresistible and has that ‘it’ that decent bands just have and others only hope to achieve. Tracks vocalised by Fleur Jack (bassist and vocals) were definitely the favourites for me, reminding me of a cross between Brody Dalle and Gwen Stefani in the
similarities of confidence and bravado. Case in point, Rock n Roll Mirror is a fun rock
monster. A song with rock n roll in the title is never going to fail and this is tight frenetic
stuff. Also featured to great effect are male Lou Reed-esque vocalised tracks courtesy
of guitarist Richard Raine (aka Jesus) , sublime slabs of guitar shred and an invigorating
ride that I was pleasantly surprised to go on. It tickles the AC/DC bone and is simply,
thoroughly enjoyable.
