P MONEY: Everything
By Lucy Mullinger
P-Money obviously wasn’t meaning ‘everything in moderation’ because his third album is everything but moderate, all about slick beats that even the hard-of-hearing will find themselves dancing to. Opening with the 2008/9 hit title-track that introduced Vince Harder, the album goes from main-stream favourite to a fast-paced, no holds barred, hip hop masterpiece with Big Things Pt 2, featuring long-time collaborator Scribe alongside PNC and David Dallas. There’s more hip hop to come but ‘Everything’ is more of a dance floor mystery tour with many genres making an appearance, including rock-inspired balladry on Falling Down (a collaboration with Pluto’s Milan Borich), the energetic disco of The Soul and the menacing beats and choral combination on Angels . P-Money shows he is unafraid of testing his own market, the risk being that there might be a little too much of everything for fans of his more specific talents.
