INTERCONNECTOR: Interconnector EP

By Robecca Leydon
Listening to this pure rock n roll release I immediately thought of The Datsuns. Sleek, tight and well put together this is pure sex. Influences include early Queens Of The Stoneage (which you can really hear in the beginning track Electric Mistress), Shihad and Deftones. I’m picturing fast cars and beer (though the drive has to be a brief one with each song being around the three minute pop mark, and only six songs on this short but sweet EP). With songs like Do You Swing? the band moves into a punk like feel, with a raw energy filled melody juxtaposed with the arrogant swagger of vocals. Recorded by Mark Rawstron and Michelle Klaessens at The Rock Factory, over all the feeling is like a quick punch to the guts and that’s the vibe they’re screaming for. I liked it; I think it’s a much needed pure rock ’n roll injection into the arm of local music.
