Rhombus: Bass Player

The Rhombus sound is here! A whirling, multi faceted sound of dub and bass, fused with hip hop styles, punchy rhythms, searing beats and these Wellingtonians deliver it with a passion. The Rhombus sound flows from a collaboration between two producers – Thomas Voyce (currently based in Okayama, Japan) and locally based Simon Rycroft – with extensive input from three top microphone masters: Imon Star (Nuvonesia); MC Rizzla (aka Tiki from Salmonella Dub) and MC Mana. Key support gigs for Pitch Black, Salmonella Dub and St Germaine and regular appearances around various Wellington night spots have earned Rhombus much respect for shows bursting with energy and vibe. That intense live energy has translated perfectly on to 'Bass Player', which clearly shows that the group's intensive work on the live stage and studio floor since early 2001 has blended their skills into a powerful weapon. Now signed to FMR, the Rhombus sound is set to extend far beyond these shores.Related Information
