Nat Rose: Golden Hour

Apparently Taj Mahal called Nat Rose "Aotearoa's best kept secret" and he couldn't be more right. This wonderful woman has had a long hiatus from recording and somehow sat under my radar for half a decade, but now that she's re-emerged with 'Golden Hour' I'm not gonna let her go again. Although the boys will appreciate her too, this is soulful music to warm any wahine to the bones. Nat is what would happen if you cooked up Jill Scott and India Arie in the same hangi, and like hangi it doesn't matter how full you get there always seems to be room for more. The music's sexy, soulful, scatty and satiating - it makes me wanna light candles, pour a glass of red and sing to myself in my underwear. Needless to say, I recommend you have a listen.
